Career Connections offer practical ways for teachers, school counselors, families and community members to show students, as early as kindergarten, the types of careers possible for them. Career Connections are designed to support the whole child through intentional career advising practices. During this one-day event, presentations on career advising in middle school, leveraging business advisory councils, building financial literacy and entrepreneurial mindset, and the development of high quality work-based learning in your school will be provided. Service Learning, Career & College Readiness Teacher
Eight years ago, Libby Turpin brought her lifetime of experience, training, parenting, and passion to the teaching profession.  She went back to school, received her Family and Consumer Science teaching license through The Ohio State University, and began teaching at Lebanon High School.  Her main focus has been to prepare young people for the future that awaits them by teaching Career & College Readiness, #Adulting, and Service Learning, a class that she created five years ago out of a passion to help students see, understand, and help with the needs in their community. She works closely with Magnified Giving so her students can award monetary grants to local non-profits and her students have the opportunity to attend a life-changing Service Immersion week in the summer.  During the semester, students also participate in a self-designed service project that allows them to utilize the skills they learn in the classroom portion of Service Learning.  Libby has a BIS in Organizational Leadership from Miami ('10) along with a multitude of credentials and certifications.
