Career Connections offer practical ways for teachers, school counselors, families and community members to show students, as early as kindergarten, the types of careers possible for them. Career Connections are designed to support the whole child through intentional career advising practices. During this one-day event, presentations on career advising in middle school, leveraging business advisory councils, building financial literacy and entrepreneurial mindset, and the development of high quality work-based learning in your school will be provided. You will leave with innovative ideas and resources for kicking off the school year!

Chris Kelley was born and raised in Springfield. As one of five children he was taught the value of family, love, discipline and hard work from his parents, Bruce and Cindy Kelley.
After graduating from Springfield-Clark Joint Vocational School known today as Springfield-Clark Career Technical Center, and furthering his education at Wright State University, he relocated to Columbus, Georgia, where he worked in various leadership and entertainment capacities. In the business sector, he’s held management positions for the second largest Lease to Own Retail Company in America and the Department of Defense at Ft. Benning Military Garrison.
In entertainment he and his wife have worked with international artist such as John Legend, Boyz2Men, Genuine, Avant, Tank, Tyrese, KeKe Wyatt to name a few. He can often be heard as a frequent on-air feature on the very popular radio stations Foxie105 and K92.7 where he has original music in rotation.
Chris Kelley is the driving force behind the local nonprofit organization Push4Peace, which actively involves the community in combating violence, bullying and a wide range of social intolerance. He is a very popular, engaging speaker requested by many religious groups and business organizations throughout the state. A recipient of many awards and honors, Chris is most proud of winning the National Prepared Speech Competition in 2004 while apart of the organization Skills-USA. He often says, “It’s an experience I’ll never forget”.
Currently he is employed by U.S. Congressman Sanford D. Bishop Jr., of the U. S. House of Representatives as a Field Representative.
