Career Connections offer practical ways for teachers, school counselors, families and community members to show students, as early as kindergarten, the types of careers possible for them. Career Connections are designed to support the whole child through intentional career advising practices. During this one-day event, presentations on career advising in middle school, leveraging business advisory councils, building financial literacy and entrepreneurial mindset, and the development of high quality work-based learning in your school will be provided. You will leave with innovative ideas and resources for kicking off the school year!

Justin Shank has devoted his career to growing responsible, career-ready young adults. Justin has utilized his time in education teaching advanced mathematics, serving as an assistant principal at Findlay High School, and helping lead Millstream Career Center as the assistant director. Justin believes in connecting learning to relevant topics in his students’ lives so they can easily see its connectedness to their future career. He challenges his students to stretch themselves with concepts and skills via technology and various leadership endeavors. Justin and his wife Juli, have three boys and enjoy living in rural Hancock county on their farm. In his free time he enjoys watching sports, hunting, fishing, farming, reading, and spending time with his family.
